Sunday's Journey II

After leaving the restaurant, we travelled quite long and we visited the KEROPOK LEKO FACTORY, actually it's quite a small factory. Here are some pictures of the factory.

Workers doing their job as we take pictures of them.

More workers...

And more workers...

Keropok that looks like long, long sausages or 'Lap Chiong' or... ya that, I know what you're thinking, YUP, that... *whisper* shit... long ones...

My father bought some of the Keropok Leko. The price is cheap, 50 pieces for only RM 5.00!

After purchasing the lekos, we continue our journey again... We went to an area with full of beautifying flora.

Stems, not flowers...

Looks like Lychee.

The best part of our journey was passing by a terrifying house, can't say house, should be MANSION. Especially the gate, it was COOL and it is similar to the movie Lord of the Rings.

NICE!

While we're watching and examining the house, we saw a banner nearby an empty land.

I'm helping this fella to advertise, haha... So, if you FAIL your add maths, call this fella...

Sunday's Journey I

Today, me and my family woke up at 11 AM. Once my father woke up, he say we will be going to Jalan UKAY for lunch with our neighbour, Uncle Francis & Aunt Theresa. Isn't it weird that we skip breakfast and straight to lunch? The restaurant is popular for it's BEGGAR CHICKEN! MMM~~ must have a try!

Once arriving to the restaurant, I was confused.
It's actually beside of the main road. Suspicous place...

The entrance of the restaurant. And some layout of the restaurant.

WHAT?!?!

WHAT?!?!??!?!

WHAT THE?!?!?!?!??!

GG!...

A cave??!?!?!

A house? The workers lives here?

I was wondering did we came the right place? OMG! We're LOST! A construction site! I investigate properly and realize there is name for the restaurant. We all settle down and my dad was ready to order. I didn't heard my dad order the BEGGAR CHICKEN! WHAT THE? My dad said that he already booked the chicken yesterday. OOOooo... no wonder there's a phrase 'BOOKING ONE DAY IN ADVANCE' just below of the restaurant's name. It is because of it's FAME. If we didn't order yesterday, there wouldn't be anymore chickens for today.

The best part of the restaurant is their cooking utensils. We use wok, ladle, forks and spoons, they use hammer, spanar, bricks, sand, mud and a whole lot more... The layout of the restaurant that we saw was actually the part of the kitchen. Woo... Their style of cooking the BEGGAR CHICKEN!

First, wrap the chicken with a few layers of plastic and paper. And cover it with mud or something and dry it to harden the mud surface like a CACOON.

The uncle buries it in the heated up sand.

After a few minutes, he dig it up and ready to be served. But before that...Cracking the CACOON-liked thing is another thing to do before serving. This is how it goes...

Dragon Boat Festival

It was 'Tuan Wu Jie'. Glutinous Rice Day OR Dragon Boat Festival? It that right? My grandmother was making her preparations on the ingredients.

The ingredients for the Glutinous Rice also known as 'Loh Mai Gai'. My grandmother begins by inserting the rice, and slowly to the sauce and stuff. After that, she wraps it with bamboo leafs.

Ratings: 5 / 10

Glutinous Rice, Nyonya.
To be serious, I didn't really like it even though it's homemade so, it's rating would be '5'.

Ratings: 7 / 10

Glutinous Rice, Salty Meat or it's called 'Ham Yoak'
This was better than the Nyonya style.

Anyway, here is the entrance and inside looks like this...

A display of various japanese wine. After taking some pictures of the restaurant, is time to check out our room.

My family got in quickly while I was taking pictures, so... have to take the room with them...

The view of our room, not interesting right? I agree because if you see properly, you can see constrution site and a parking area, but at least it was blocked by some greens, haha...

Restaurant B' Sentral

The day was FATHER'S DAY (17th of June), my mom has already booked for a restaurant called "KOMURA" in CORUS HOTEL. At 12.00 PM, the restaurant only starts to serve for lunch. Before going to the restaurant, we have a church (FGA) to attend. We usually go for the afternoon service (10.30 AM~12.00 PM) but it would be late. So we decided going on the 1st service which is the morning service (7.30 AM~9.00 AM). After whorshipping the lord, we left the sanctuary. The time was 9.20AM, but for lunch, we have to wait till 12 noon. And where did we go? We go YAM CHA!

Where did the 'L' go?

Dad took us to Restaurant B' Sentral, It's a nice place. It's like a mamak but better, it's serves from the usual food we eat in mamak to western food, and they also serve their very own special like the Claypot Beef Rice.

Ratings: 8 / 10

MMM~~ it's tasty, it's marvellous. This is the Claypot Beef Rice and it deserves an '8' for it's well-cooked rice, aroma and especially the meat, FRESH!
We did not order this, this picture was taken at night, not in the morning. If we eat too much, we won't be able to continue our meal on the reservation at 12.00 PM.

Ratings: Teh Tarik 6 / 10 , Limau Ais 6 / 10

We ordered some drinks, Teh Tarik & Limau Ais. It is ok and normal.

After drinking some of the beverages, I feel I have to do some small business. And guess what? I found out that outsiders have to pay RM 1.00 for using their washroom, isn't that 'Terlampau' ?

Luckily I was a customer...

When we was leaving the restaurant, I noticed that the floor and the fencing are made by RAILWAY'S WOOD. My father told us that.

It is thick, heavy and old as you can see the pictures. The thickness of it is about 7cm. This kind of wood is rare and the quality is better than any other wood, my dad said that termites can't even eat through it... I can't ensure that. True or false is up to you...

Oh, there's the 'L'...

The view of Restaurant B' Sentral at night. The story continues in the next post... (Restaurant 'KOMURA')

This is Ming Xiang doing it the better way. Sometimes he teaches me other style and also encourages me too.

This is Chun Hoe, he is also learning the freeze part.

We manage to take this picture together doing the freeze, thanks to Yeu Kit, haha. Not IMBANG...

Dinner at 1U

The TCK 1920 Hakkakaya, also known as the Old Pasar Road Kafe. It is located at the old wing, opposite of "Long Hong Ka", just beside of Kenny Rogers. It is the same floor as "Char Chan Teng". Its my first time here, and I would be glad to introduce some comestible and give some ratings for it.

Finally we went in and took some pictures of the paintings on the wall. This is the picture of the Old Pasar Road.

The traditional style of making toast, I can say, It is GOOD.

Ratings: 8 / 10

Finally the food section. I ordered the TCK 1920 Hakkakaya Nasi Lemak Istimewa. It cost RM 12.90 but at least it is nice. So, the price is still satisfying.

Ratings: 6 / 10

My sister ordered the Pattaya Fried Rice and its RM 8.90 but its actual price is RM 10.90 and it is worth it. Lets have a look inside shall we?

Tada! Its just fried rice that we always eat, nothing different. It is ok.

Ratings: 7 / 10

The Claypot Lo See Fun that my mom ordered its also nice and it only cost RM 10.90. But the bad thing is, it is too oily.

Ratings: 7 / 10

Finally my father's meal. The typical Chinese Fried Rice, cost RM 7.90. The same thing but it is much better than normal.

Ratings: 8 / 10

Earlier I have already said it, the kaya butter toast, It is GOOD.
Costing only RM 2.20. This toast is a must.

Ratings: 4 / 10

For the beverage, it was FREE! Sarsi mix with Cincau comes with the order of the Pattaya Fried Rice. The good thing is, it has the sarsi taste but the sad thing is, it doesn't have much cincau in it. My sister said the drink was bad because she dislike..., cincau? For me, I would say it is not bad but below average. What to do? It is free...
